52nd Annual Fly Day A Success!

The 2010 Fly Day was a tremendous success.  Thank you all who came out to take rides in support of the Ottawa Rotary Home.  With the good fortune of having a mainly sunny day, we were overwhelmed by your support.  We apologize to those who waited ever so patiently to fly and also to those who were turned away.

We would like to thank the pilots who came from the Rockliffe Flying Club and the Carp airport to join our Ottawa Flying Club members in volunteering their time and aircraft.  Many flew the entire day and the total number of flights exceeded well over 100.

Thanks to the many volunteers on the ground from the Ottawa Flying Club and the Ottawa Rotary Club.  Cadets from 632 Phoenix (Air Cadet) Squadron pitched in as well.

Overall, good weather, dedicated volunteers and patient passengers made the day a great success – we even had one airborne (successful) marriage proposal!  We hope to see you next year…
